The Bible Says:
Elijah was a man like us. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain and it did not rain on teh land for three and a half years. Again he prayed and the heavens gave rain and the earth produced its crops
James 5: 17-18
James is careful to remind us that Elijah was a man like us.....Dr. VanderGriend in Love to Pray writes:
The power of prayer is not in the person or in the words of prayer.
All the power of prayer is God's power released through prayer.
It was God who held back the rain.
It was God who caused the rain to return.
James also makes the point that Elijah "prayed earnestly" Earnest prayer gained the results.
The prayers of ordinary people also need to be persistent. In order to cause the rain to come again
Is there something that God wants to accomplish through your prayers? Why not ask him earnestly and persistently and watch for the results.....
